As well as correctly attributing and acknowledging Indigenous sources in our writing, we can also implement this in our referencing practices. There are no hard set "rules" on this but there are now a number of referencing guidelines with suitable recommendations such as acknowledging Indigenous authors using in-text references and in the reference list by adding sources cultural affiliation, such as hapū, iwi, nation, tribe and/or language group, after the sources name. Although this should be acceptable in all Undergraduate studies, remember to always check with your lecturer, supervisor, publisher, or equivalent to ensure correct practice and avoid any penalties.
