Key Dates

2024/25 Summer School C, G, H & W

21 October 2024 - Request your Reading List items to be scanned (copyright cleared) for print course-packs

28 October 2024 - Request your Reading List items to be scanned when no print course-pack is required (Note: requests are welcomed after this date, but scans may not be available by the start of trimester)

These due dates give the Library time to source items for digitisation that are not in our collections. Library staff will use best efforts to get scanned copies uploaded to WRL by the start of the teaching period, but we cannot guarantee that requests received after the recommended dates can be processed in time for the beginning of the trimester. Items will be processed in the order they are received

Checklist

Use this checklist to make sure your list is ready for the new trimester!

  1. Review Last Year's List: Take a moment to check if your Reading List from the previous year has been rolled over, if applicable. This will provide a foundation upon which to build and refine for the current academic term.
  2. Verify Scans: Confirm that scans from the previous year's list have been successfully rolled over, ensuring continuity in access to relevant materials.
  3. Add Necessary Items: If you're curating a new list, or adding to an existing list, add all necessary items to cater to the learning objectives of your course.
  4. Request Digitisation: Requesting digitisation for any print items that are newly added (not existing items previously scanned). This will not only facilitate accessibility but also trigger essential copyright clearances.
  5. Edit and Collaborate: Edit your list as required, and don't forget to include any colleagues collaborating with you on the list.
  6. Enhance Student Notes: Tailor the "Note for Student" field to provide additional guidance or context where needed.
  7. Check Links: Verify that all links to online resources, especially journal articles and websites, are functioning on and off campus.
  8. High Demand Collection: Strategically specify items for the High Demand Collection in the "Note for Library" field, bearing in mind the timeline for processing High Demand requests.
  9. Publish Your List: Once finalized, publish your list to make it accessible to your students.
  10. Integrate with Moodle and Paper Outlines: Ensure seamless integration by linking your published list or individual items to Moodle and Paper Outlines, streamlining access for your students. Instructions for getting your list into Moodle are here
