Choosing the right sources: Rauru Whakarare evaluation framework

This guide is intended for anyone wanting a bit of advice on how to choose the right sources for their studies, and be able to identify good quality academic sources from not so good sources.

The Rauru Whakarare evaluation framework

The Rauru Whakarare evaluation framework is a kaupapa Māori-informed approach to evaluation.

The framework embodies an interconnectedness between the following elements -

  • Whakapapa – The background
  • Orokohanga – The origins
  • Mana – The authority
  • Māramatanga – The content
  • Aronga – The lens
