Choosing the right sources: What are Peer reviewed sources?

This guide is intended for anyone wanting a bit of advice on how to choose the right sources for their studies, and be able to identify good quality academic sources from not so good sources.

What are Peer reviewed sources?

Peer reviewed sources are sources that are critically evaluated and checked over by a panel of experts, before the source gets published in a journal. They are very good scholarly sources because you know that the information contained in them is of the highest quality.

Library Search as well as other databases enable you to filter results to show only peer-reviewed sources, see the different guides on using Library Search as well as databases for further information.
